Making Baskets and Camping

in the Chiricahua Mountains

Ric's BasketsPam Murphy

On the weekend of October 2nd, 2009, the guild held a 3 day workshop on Making Pine Baskets with instructor Rick Rao at a campground in the Chiricahua Mountains.

Those who attended had a really nice time, learned great basket weaving techniques and enjoyed the company around the campfire.

Participants gathered pine needles for their baskets from the forest floor.

2009 Cochise County Fair

Several guild members volunteered to demonstrate at the fair this year, and as usual the children really appreciat3ed their efforts.  BJ Power is shown below demonstrating how to spin using a wheel.  If you look closely, you can see those happy sheep on her guild tee shirt!
